Aspen Healthcare is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team.

Since 1986, Aspen Healthcare has been providing medical supplies, home healthcare products, and equipment to individuals, caregivers, healthcare professionals, facilities, and institutions. We offer a wide range of products, including mobility equipment, ostomy and continence supplies, bathroom and bedroom safety products, compression garments, daily living aids, lift equipment, orthopedic supports, medical supplies, diagnostic and respiratory equipment, and other home healthcare products.

Our ideal candidate is, first and foremost, a team player with excellent customer service skills. We are looking for someone who is friendly, professional, dependable, organized, and able to learn quickly in a fast-paced retail environment.

Previous experience in the medical supply or healthcare industry is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person who brings a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.

Hours & Compensation

  • Full-time, Monday through Friday
  • Scheduled hours will be either 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. or 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
  • $19.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

As a Sales Associate, you will have your own desk and computer and will be responsible for assisting customers and processing orders while working closely with the rest of the Aspen Healthcare team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service to walk-in and telephone customers
  • Assist customers in identifying and selecting appropriate products based on their needs
  • Learn Aspen Healthcare's extensive product selection and develop strong product knowledge
  • Create and process customer orders, invoices, payments, returns, and exchanges accurately
  • Process orders and required documentation for Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) and other government funding programs
  • Answer incoming telephone calls, take orders, respond to customer questions, and direct calls when necessary
  • Follow up on customer orders, special orders, backorders, and product availability when required
  • Use the company's point-of-sale and computer systems accurately and efficiently
  • Process debit, credit, and other customer payments
  • Maintain accurate customer, order, and funding information while respecting customer privacy and confidentiality
  • Assist with receiving incoming shipments, checking products, and putting inventory away
  • Stock and organize shelves and help maintain appropriate inventory levels
  • Retrieve products from the sales floor or stock areas for customers
  • Help maintain attractive, organized, and well-stocked product displays
  • Keep your desk and work area clean, professional, organized, and presentable
  • Help ensure the entire store remains clean, organized, safe, and welcoming to customers
  • Assist with inventory counts and identify inventory discrepancies when required
  • Work cooperatively with coworkers and assist other team members during busy periods
  • Learn new products, procedures, funding requirements, and company processes as required
  • Provide product information within the scope of your training and refer technical or clinical questions to the appropriate team member when necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the day-to-day operation of the store

Qualifications & Skills

  • Has good verbal and written communication skills
  • Is organized and able to manage multiple customers, phone calls, and tasks throughout the day
  • Can remain patient, respectful, and professional when assisting customers who may be elderly, recovering from an injury or surgery, managing a health condition, or experiencing a stressful situation
  • Is comfortable handling payments and basic retail transactions
  • Is physically able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Is willing to assist with stocking, receiving inventory, cleaning, and general store duties
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:

  • Medical supplies or home healthcare
  • Healthcare or pharmacy retail
  • Retail sales or customer service
  • Point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Debit and credit card terminals
  • Order entry and invoicing
  • AADL or other government-funded healthcare programs

Medical supply experience is not required. Product and procedure training will be provided to the right candidate.
